Maris has been a Realtor since 2003 and has lived in SE Michigan most of her life.  Before real estate, her life included earning a Bachelor Fine Arts from CCS in Detroit, and a Master of Information and Library Science from the U of M School of Information.  She has also earned the Graduate REALTOR Institute (GRI) designation.

In her previous careers in retail book sales, library media services management at the University of Detroit, and as Librarian at Cranbrook Academy of Art, Maris developed expertise in connecting people with useful information.  With her design sensibilities, she provides home sellers with useful suggestions on how to best prepare their homes for the most effective presentation and marketing, and buyers with ways to imagine how they can live in a potential new home with style and function or even build from the ground up on a vacant property.  She has experience helping people buy and sell both old and new homes, farms and land, and investment properties.

As a veteran of national and international relocations, Maris knows the emotional and logistical complexities of a family move—and most importantly—how to smooth the rough spots along the way. She is passionate about the quality of life in and around Ann Arbor, and her clients often turn to her as a community consultant as well as a real estate advisor.

In her spare time, Maris enjoys the outdoors and exercise. She achieved the Master Gardener designation and is an avid gardener, cook, and reader, hosting a monthly book club. She’s also a collector of various interesting art, objects, antiques and junk, from thrift stores, rummage and yard sales, and serves on the Board of the International Museum of Dinnerware Design.
